Internship Placement 

Arts Management Intenship - BHIPInterns are placed at full-time upper-level internships tailored to their interests and skill sets. They have the opportunity to work in countless administrative capacities including, but not limited to: development, marketing, education, programming, and gallery management.

Interns work a minimum of 35 hours per week at their internship sites. Intensive! They are supervised by and work closely with the leading arts management professionals in the area. Internship sites include:

 

 

 

Norman Rockwell Museum

The Berkshire Museum

IS183 Art School

IS183 is a non-profit community art school encouraging people of all ages, means and skill levels to enrich their lives through hands-on experience in the visual arts.

The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center 

The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center aims to be the leading year-round presenter of performing arts, film, and educational programs for the Southern Berkshires and neighboring communities.

Shakespeare & Company
Shakespeare & Company aspires to create a theatre of unprecedented excellence rooted in the classical ideals of inquiry, balance, and harmony; a company that performs as the Elizabethans did - in love with poetry, physical prowess, and the mysteries of the universe.

DownStreet Art

DownStreet Art is a public art project designed to revitalize downtown North Adams.  Harnessing existing arts organizations and events and transforming vacant and open spaces, DownStreet Art defines North Adams as a cultural haven, driving tourists and community members' downtown.

Williamstown Theatre Festival
Williamstown Theatre Festival aims to produce classic and new plays with distinction and verve. WTF also provides a training program in which emerging theater talents collaborate with accomplished mentors in a vital, professional and educational atmosphere.

The Office of Cultural Development 

The City of Pittsfield's Office of Cultural Development was created to enhance the city's quality of life and its role as the cultural hub of the Berkshires by promoting, supporting and initiating cultural activities for residents and visitors to Pittsfield.

MASS MoCA

Ferrin Gallery is one of the nation's premier ceramic art and sculpture galleries.

Hancock Shaker Village

Hancock Shaker Village is a private, not-for-profit educational organization working to bring the Shaker story to life and preserve it for future generations.

Greylock Arts is committed to showing the work of compelling artists, with an emphasis on underrepresented forms of interactive and new media arts.

The Clark Art Institute
The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute is an art museum and a center for research and higher education, dedicated to advancing and extending the public understanding of art.

MCLA Gallery 51
Located at 51 Main Street, in North Adams MCLA Gallery 51 features the work of international, national and local artists, including MCLA faculty and students.

MCLA's Berkshire Cultural Resource Center (BCRC) provides professional development training, resources, and support to the artists, art managers, and creative workers of Berkshire County.

Kidspace at MASS MoCA, is a contemporary art gallery, studio and educational program.

North Adams Office of Tourism & Community Events

North Adams Office of Tourism and Community Events' mission is to weave cultural, historical and natural resources into attractive, authentic experiences that appeal to discerning visitors and enrich the lives of local residents in the City of North Adams.

Assets for Artists
Under the umbrella of Berkshire Creative, MASS MoCA, Pittsfield's Office of Cultural Development, and MCLA's Berkshire Cultural Resource Center launched Assets for Artists.
This pilot initiative is aimed at helping artists throughout Berkshire County who wish to become home owners and/or receive small business training and assistance.

PRESS Gallery
PRESS is a public art project that invites you to get a free look at the process of traditional letterpress printing-the single sheet of paper strapped to the cylinder moving across the relief surface as it gets printed and punched. At PRESS, you can see how newspapers, books and pictures were created in the days when the first step in getting print into the public's hands was to use a letterpress proof press.
