Anne Galjour, who last captivated audiences in New England and across the country with sold-out performances of her solo play, Hurricane, will present her new work exploring class and culture throughout New England. Based on dozens of interviews and story circles held with folks throughout New England, including right here in North Adams, she explores and shares her findings on class, and social divisions in our home towns.
Galjour's play is a component of the Hopkins Center's "Class Divide" project at Dartmouth College. The initiative is focused issues of socio-economic class through the eyes of artists.
Anne Galjour's one-woman plays have been praised for their originality of
the writing as well as excellence of performance. Originally from
Southeastern Louisiana, she has drawn on her Cajun background to create
vivid characters and enthralling narratives.
"Anne Galjour doesn't only make us see and hear her characters. We smell and taste them too..." -San Francisco Chronicle
