"Coming out of the History Department at MCLA, and also having spent three years working on the Student Government Association (SGA), I had hoped to continue to pursue my interests and get a job working in government. I had been to the State House a few times for Student Lobby days, and had been in touch with my local representatives all throughout school, so after graduation, this was certainly to my advantage, as I now work on Beacon Hill."

  • Internship placement - matched to your skills and interests
  • Arts management class taught by MCLA faculty
  • Admission to outings at world-renowned cultural institutions
  • TalkBacks with arts professionals and cultural leaders
  • Up to 12 upper-level college credits

Program costs: Approximately $2,500*

Interns also receive a $100 per week stipend from their internship sites.  The stipend for a twelve week program is equivalent to half the program costs.

*Need- and merit-based scholarships available on a first-come first-served basis. Please contact Jessica Conzo, at Jessica.Conzo@mcla.edu for more details.

Housing:
Housing is provided during the summer sessions in the MCLA townhouses (the cost is included in the program fee). B-HIP interns share two of the townhouses, which house 6 people each.  They are apartment-style with a shared kitchen and living room.  B-HIPsters come together in the evenings to share their experiences from their different internship sites.
