"What really drew me to the College was the fact that I knew I would get a lot of ‘real world’ experience. My hands-on experience was invaluable. MCLA supports its students, doing what it takes to get them into new experiences that will later prove to be stepping stones into a career."

B-HIP the Course

B-HIP, the course, gives interns an opportunity to absorb and evaluate all they have learned on-site and on location. The mixture of theory and practice come together in a class designed for reflection and analysis. The course aims to support students’ exposure to and involvement with higher-level issues in arts management, such as program planning, marketing, and fundraising, and to gain an understanding of how these administrative areas work together in the day-to-day management of a cultural institution.

The class is taught by arts management professor Lauren O'Neal, and Jonathan Secor, Director of Special Programs at MCLA.
