"MCLA’s location provided me with endless opportunities to gain professional experience in the arts. I had a lot of fun working as a tour guide at MASS MoCA and in the education department at the Berkshire Museum, which allowed me to figure out what kinds of jobs I would like and to meet a lot of interesting arts professionals along the way. MCLA’s small size helped me develop close working relationships with my favorite professors who always took time to advise me on academic and professional concerns. I really felt like they were with me all the way."

B-HIP

World-Class Arts Management Training

The Berkshire Hills Internship Program (B-HIP) is an intensive arts management internship program uniting the renowned cultural institutions of Berkshire County, with students interested in arts administration.  The Berkshires are a vital part of the cultural corridor forming between New York City and southern Vermont.  With over sixty cultural venues in the county, from Tanglewood, Jacob’s Pillow and MASS MoCA to Barrington Stage Company, Ferrin Gallery and the Storefront Artists Project, they range from classic to cutting edge.

B-HIP is a semester or summer long program, combining hands-on work experience with classes taught by MCLA faculty, TalkBacks with the area’s leading arts professionals, and weekly cultural outings. B-HIP offers interns educational and career advancement opportunities that are hard to find elsewhere.
