To Sponsors of On-Campus Internships
Dear Director/Supervisor:
The Career Services Center at Massachusetts College of Liberal
Arts is in the process of identifying and expanding campus
internship possibilities for our junior and senior year students.
What is an internship? It is a work or service opportunity for a
student to gain supervised practical experience in a designated
professional setting. Internships may or may not include income
but do include the awarding of academic credit.
How does an internship benefit a department or service? Interns
can provide staff support with special projects or work
assignments for a designated period of time. The length and
weekly time commitments of an internship are negotiated between
the designated site supervisor, academic department and the
student.
To obtain an internship, students must complete the application
process and be approved by the academic major department (for
additional information about the process, please note the
attached Internship Guidelines).
At this time, the Career Services Center staff invites you to be
a participant in this program by helping to identify potential
sites within the campus community.
In today's job market, employers seek job candidates who have
related work experience. Listing an internship experience on a
resume is a plus for a college graduate beginning their
professional career.
If you can assist us in this process or have questions about this
opportunity, please contact the Career Services Center at Ext. 5332.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Sincerely,
Sharron Zavattaro, Director
Career Services Center
