Securing Internship or Non-Credit Work Experience
Steps For Securing An Internship
Career Services Center (CSC) may make the initial contact
to develop or confirm the internship site.
You pick up contract in academic department.
You schedule an interview with site supervisor to
determine goals and objectives which define the internship,
have questions answered, and identify expectations.
You are strongly encouraged to possess a professional
resume as a summary of your current background and skills.
Professional or appropriate wardrobe is essential especially for
the initial interview.
You respond to CSC.
You negotiate total on-site hours and work schedule with
supervisor. You prepare the appropriate paperwork with
academic department and determine credit approval with
faculty supervisor.
You register for internship through Registrar's Office.
Steps For Non-Credit Work Experience
Career Services Center (CSC) makes the initial contact to
develop or confirm a work site.
STUDENT interviews with site supervisor to determine the
goals and objectives which define the work experience.
STUDENT negotiates with work site supervisor total hours
and work schedule.
Attend CSC seminars for resume building, interviewing
preparation, and how-to-dress tips.
