The Renovation of Bowman Hall
Indeed, creativity will be the very essence of Bowman Hall as students sculpt, draw, and paint; explore the frontiers of technology through computer science; and conceive new and exciting mathematical applications. The renovation project began in the summer of 2014.
Some of the new features:
- Those who enter this LEED-certified building from the campus quadrangle will be greeted by an art gallery to showcase the work of our students. Most of the building's numerous classrooms will be located on this level, as will some of the conference rooms and faculty offices.
- Mathematics and computer science will be headquartered downstairs, which will boast the robotics lab, software, and hardware labs, more classrooms, and a comfortable faculty center. The coffee shop, too, will be an appealing feature.
- The third floor will house the visual arts with its specialized labs, classrooms, and studio spaces. Computer science, too, will have a presence here; a high-end computer graphics design lab will support courses in design, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and digital editing.
