Accuplacer Reading Comprehension - Test The reading comprehension test consists of 20 questions presented in two types: The first type requires students to read a passage and answer questions based on the passage. Students are presented with both long and short narratives. The second type of question focuses on sentence relationships, presents two sentences followed by a question about the relationship between the two sentences.

Accuplacer Elementary Algebra Test - The elementary algebra test is a total of 12 questions divided into three types. The first type involves operations with integers and rational number, and includes computation with integers and negative rationals. The second type involves operations with algebraic expressions, evaluation of simple formulas and expressions and adding, subtracting multiplying and dividing monomials and polynomials. Factoring is also included. The third type involves the solution of equations, inequalities and word problems including geometric reasoning and graphing.

MCLA’s Mathematics Test - This is a 17 question survey test of basic mathematical knowledge. The test consists of questions drawn from the following areas: Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus and Statistics.

 MCLA’s Modern Language Test - The Modern Language test is a computerized 50 question multiple choice exam designed to assess the level of proficiency in one of three languages, French, Italian or Spanish.  

MCLA’s Writing Test - This test is designed to assess students’ proficiency in responding to a predetermined essay prompt. The test is designed to draw a students’ general knowledge and does not require preparation in advance. Essays are evaluated on certain criteria including but not limited to the following: effectively address the writing task, is well organized and developed with supporting ideas, consistent use of language demonstrating variety in sentence structure and range of vocabulary.
