New Information from New York State: We are pleased to announce that MCLA and New York State have completed a review of the MCLA program leading to administrative certification. The result of the review is that the 30-credit (including internship) program offered through the academic year and in the summer Leadership Academy and approved by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as leading to certification as a Building Principal in Massachusetts has been deemed acceptable for meeting academic requirements for the New York State School Building Leader certification. According to representatives at New York State Education Department, graduates of the MCLA Program should receive positive review provided they have completed the MCLA program in full and have met all criteria of the State of New York (e.g., fingerprinting, three years teaching experience, etc.).
