Student Internships

Environmental Studies Students at MCLA

Students majoring in Environmental Studies are active on campus and in the community. Current majors are involved in club activities including the Biology Club, the Environmental Studies Club, and the Outing Club. Environmental Studies students actively pursue internships and research projects. They are well-traveled, having visited/worked and/or studied in Costa Rica, Belize, Mexico, Patagonia, and seven different national parks.

Student Internships

  • A student attended an environmental conference in Brazil sponsored by the Office of International Affairs through the Environmental Protection Agency. This conference was very intensive and he was able to meet with high-ranking officials in Brazil charged with managing Brail's Natural Resources.
  • A student served as an intern with the Hoosic River Watershed Association. He participated in projects regarding public education of the Hoosic River, tracking of wood turtles, maintaining trails, and researching propety ownership along the river.
  • A student served as an intern in Yellowstone National Park.
  • A student traveled to six national parks over the summer and shot more than 80 rolls of film.
  • A student served as an intern with Nature's Classroom in Beckett. Nature's Classroom educates young children about science and the environment.
