"Transferring to MCLA was one of the greatest decisions I ever made. Being able to learn from and connect with the faculty and staff equipped me with greater networking capabilities/skills and the opportunity to use them outside of the institution, preparing me for the road ahead. Taking part and engaging in different clubs and organizations on campus helped to shape and guide me for countless opportunities."

Fine & Performing Arts

MCLA is fortunate to be at the center of the North Adams cultural renaissance. In addition to the numerous art museums, theatres and music venues students can take advantage of, MCLA is proud to sponsor three very specific ventures:

B-HIP - The Berkshire Hills Internship Program brings together qualified students in arts management and arts professionals in the culturally rich Berkshire County area. Candidates from all over the world bring their considerable skills and backgrounds to the Berkshires to work in a multitude of administrative capacities – including development, marketing, public relations, executive training, programming and technical production. These students gain hands-on training in the very specific field of arts management.

Gallery 51 - Gallery 51 on Main Street in North Adams is the result of a unique collaboration between area business and community leaders, the City of North Adams and the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Located at 51 Main Street, Gallery 51 is operated by MCLA and features the works of international, national and local artists, including MCLA faculty and students.

BCRC - The Berkshire Cultural Resource Center is a collaborative project of the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA), Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) and the City of North Adams and provides the regional arts community training, resources, access, and marketing support to artists, arts managers, arts scholars, and arts-related entrepreneurs. The center, formed in spring 2006, is hosting a series of instructional workshops in nonprofit management with an arts focus, delivered by leaders and working professionals from the arts-rich Berkshire region.
