Political Science and Public Policy Minor Description and Requirements The political science and public policy minor offers students the opportunity to study a variety of political institutions and processes. The minor enhances the chosen major for those interested in careers in law, government, public service, journalism, and business. For a history major minoring in political science, POSC 201 and POSC 202 may be counted towards the minor requirements, but the remaining four electives must be different from the courses used to fulfill the history major requirements.  POSC 201 US Government and Public Policy (3 credits) Introduces the major institutions of national and state government and discipline of political science. Through interdisciplinary study, students will develop an understanding of political behavior and the public policy processes of the United States. POSC 202 Comparative Government and Public Policy (3 credits) Provides a comparative introduction to world political cultures and the discipline of political science. Through an interdisciplinary study of various nation-states, students will develop an understanding of political behavior and public policy processes. Four electives approved by the Department (12 credits) Total Political Science and Public Policy Minor Requirements: 18 credits
