Physics Programs at MCLA

The department offers two programs leading to a Bachelor's degree in physics, along with a program leading to a minor in physics - any degree program at the college may be supplemented with a physics minor. The department also offers a concentration in robotics and a pre-engineering program leading to a Bachelor of Arts in physics from MCLA and a Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline from a cooperating engineering institution. Students may also select from the different offerings to build a curriculum tailored to match individual interests.

• Bachelor of Arts Program
  A traditional liberal arts degree in physics.
• Bachelor of Science Program
  A rigorous program for those planning to pursue advanced degrees in physics or engineering, or seek engineering or scientific positions upon graduation.
• Physics Minor Program
  Combine a minor in physics with any other major (recruiters love it!)
• Robotic Arts Program
  A program where science, technology and art meet in a challenging, futuristic setting.
• 3-2 Engineering Program
  This program, scheduled to begin in the fall of 2006, leads to a BA degree from MCLA and a BS degree from a cooperating engineering school.

This robot may be operated from a remote location using its on-board camera to feed live video to the operator, or in autonomous mode, guided by programs loaded into the robot's main computer (seen mounted behind the camera).
