As part of your preparation for college, we encourage everyone to write a brief essay on the summer reading, Nine Hills to Nambonkaha.
If you write a 750-word essay on one of the following questions, then please submit it to the Essay Contest. The winning essay (chosen by a faculty committee) will be awarded a $100 gift certificate to the MCLA bookstore.
Compose an essay that addresses one of the following issues:
- What made the greatest impression on you from reading this book? What questions do you have for Sarah Erdman?
- Have you participated in any community service or volunteer work? After reading this book, what reflections can you make regarding the importance of community work locally and globally?
- What has Sarah Erdman taught you about experiencing other cultures?
