Academic Resources

Career Services Center

Although luck may have something to do with students getting their first job, the largest number of students starting careers or beginning graduate school (after graduation) arrived there by following a planned path. We help you plan that path.

Begin by Charting Your Course
We suggest stages of activities in which you engage each year of your education, with focal areas for career planning clustered in each year.

Exploring Majors and Careers
Career Services offers students ways to explore the choice of major and career.  Use SIGI3 as one tool to assist you in exploring majors.

Internships
We believe an internship is a critical part of your experience at MCLA. Find out how to gain an advantage to land an internship for professional experience.

Study Away/Abroad Programs - Expand your Horizons
Travel enriches your academic experience and provides an expanded world view that employers value. We'll help you find the right experience.

Resume Preparation
A resume is a marketing tool. You use it to sell yourself to a potential employer.  It shows your achievements, attributes, strengths and cumulative experience. Let us help you build your perfect professional resume.

The Job Search
You've got the resume now it is time to start looking for a job. We've gathered many resources to help, from search strategies, job listings and interviewing.

Graduate School Information
Deciding whether to attend graduate school is a decision that requires some careful thought and is one that should not be taken lightly. We've assembled several questions that you should ask yourself to assist you in this process. We've also assembled a guide to getting the most out of a graduate school fair.
