Mad Scientist/Instructor/Performer

Mad Scientist/Instructor/Performer
Number of Openings
• Part-time work available as Instructors/Performers for summer programs and/or school year in-class and after-School programs in Western Massachusetts, Greater Hartford, and Brattleboro, VT areas.
• Conduct fun, exciting, educational, hands-on science activities with kids typically aged 5-12. All of our programs provide a mix of education and entertainment.
• Some pre-school programs are also available to qualified applicants.
• Programs are conducted in parks and recreation, camps, libraries and community centers during the summer and in schools as after-school programs & in-class curriculum enhancement workshops during the school year. There’s also the potential to perform at birthday parties on weekends, and at stage shows at festivals, camps, schools, and other locations.

Required Skills
• Experience working with groups of 15-25 young children
• Outgoing, fun-loving, energetic personality
• Must have a reliable car
• For summer programs – available at least 4 weeks out of the summer, particularly in the morning (some programs are in the afternoon)
• For after-school programs - available at least 2-3 weekdays per week (after 2 pm)
• Stage shows, workshops, birthday parties and other one-time programs may be held days, evenings or weekends--you can arrange to do only those that fit your schedule—Great flexible way to supplement your income
• Strong sense of commitment, dedication and reliability is mandatory
• Theatre/performance experience desired for Stage shows and helpful for all events
• Science background helpful, but not required
