Dr. Matthew Kostek

Research/Creative Interests

An exercise physiologist, Dr. Kostek earned a B.S. in Health and Fitness, an M.S. in Health Promotion and a Ph.D. in Kinesiology.  He has taught Exercise Science, Anatomy and Physiology, Exercise Prescription, Health and Nutrition, Humans in Motion, Research Methods and other courses.  Dr. Kostek is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and an American Colleges of Sports Medicine (ACSM)-certified Exercise Physiologist. He plans to focus his research on adoption and maintenance of physical activity, and on the physical and mental effects of short-term and long-term exercise.  In the 2017-2018 academic year Dr. Kostek will teach Anatomy & Physiology I, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, and Functional Anatomy.  In the future he will teach additional courses in his area of expertise.
