Our students tell us that MCLA is the right choice because they receive a rare combination of quality academics and affordability.

Approximately 85% of our students receive some form of financial assistance, primarily a combination of grants, loans, and part-time employment. There are also a number of alternative loan and payment plans that let you take advantage of an incredible education - without incurring incredible debt.

New York State Reduction Program

New York State provides an 85% tuition reduction for NY students, a savings of approximately $8,400 per year, for all majors. See eligibility information below.

 

Other State Tuition Reduction Programs

The New England Board of Higher Education* (NEBHE) provides an 85% tuition reduction for MCLA students, a savings of approximately $8,400 per year, from the following states who major in the programs listed below:

ME, RIEnglish/Communications (media) majors
RIAthletic Training majors
CT, NH, RI, VT    
Arts Management majors  
Southern VTall majors, based on “proximity rule”
or distance from MCLA

The expenses above are used when awarding Financial Aid.

Eligibility

To be eligible for any of these programs, you must:

     - Reside in the state
     - Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
     - Be a full-time student

Priority is given to students who reside on campus. First-year students are eligible for fours years of full-time undergraduate enrollment. Transfer students are eligible for the additional semesters needed to complete one undergraduate degree at MCLA.

In addition to these reductions, you can also qualify for merit scholarships and receive need-based
financial aid

How to Apply for Aid

MCLA requires the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

     - Complete the FAFSA beginning October 1
     - Sign your FAFSA with a Federal Student Aid PIN. ( Apply for PIN)
     - MCLA Title IV Code: 002187
     - Utilize the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to avoid delays

October 1
Beginning October 1 the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) becomes available. We encourage students to complete their FAFSA and submit any additional requested documentation as early as possible.

January 15
Financial aid awards are reviewed on a first-come/first-served basis and students will be notified of their awards beginning on January 15, continuing on a rolling basis.
