Transfer Scholarships


 

Academic Merit Scholarships are available for transfer students and are awarded at the time of admission to those students who qualify.   In order to be considered for a transfer scholarship, students are urged to apply for admission by the priority deadline of March 1.   Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis and  guidelines vary from year to year based on funding levels.  

When you apply to MCLA, you automatically apply for these scholarships. However, apply early so you have the best chance of getting one.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship: Awarded to incoming students inducted into Phi Theta Kappa*, who have completed their associate's degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3. Renewable for up to four semesters by maintaining a GPA of 3.3 for full-time enrollment at MCLA.

          3.6 and above               $3,000

* Students must submit proof of their induction to Phi Theta Kappa to be considered for this scholarship.

Presidential Transfer Scholarship: Awarded to incoming residential* students that have or will have earned an associate's degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. Renewable for up to four semesters by maintaining a GPA of 3.3 for full-time enrollment at MCLA.

          3.75 and above             $3,000

* Students must live on campus to qualify for this scholarship.

Students are only eligible for one of the above scholarships.

Scholarships are subject to availability of funds at the time of admission.

Mass Transfer Program: As a transfer student, you may may be eligible for a 1/3 reduction in tuition provided you have:

  • Achieved a 3.0 grade point average
  • Earned an Associate's degree in an approved program
  • Provided verification from your community college

The Mass Transfer reduction is renewable for up to two years.
