April 9, 2008, information session for China trip: MCLA, in partnership with the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade (SIFT) is organizing a two-week international study program to China. Professor of Economics Ben Kahn at BKahn@mcla.edu will lead this educational trip, which will run from May 13-28, 2008. Those interested in participating in the program may attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, April 9, 2008; 5:00-6:00 p.m., Amsler Campus Center Sullivan Lounge.

Berkshire County Goes to College Days: MCLA, in partnership with the Berkshire Compact for Higher Education, is hosting campus visits for Berkshire County sixth graders on the mornings of April 8 and April 10, 2008. During the visits, more than 200 students each day will tour the campus, attend demonstrations by faculty members, and meet with MCLA students. MCLA students to participate in Sol LeWitt project at MASS MoCA: Congratulations to Sylvia Birns-Swindlehurst '08, who has accepted a six-month-long master apprenticeship with the Sol LeWitt project at MASS MoCA. Congratulations also to Aaron Andrews '08, Caitlin Healy '08, and Derek Anderson '09 who will serve summer internships with the project. Service Learning project brings MCLA students to New Orleans: A group of MCLA students, led by Spencer Moser, MCLA's Coordinator of Service Programs and Activities, and Admissions Counselor Teddy Bourgeois '07 traveled to New Orleans to work on environmental and ecological projects in collaboration with the National Wildlife Federation. MCLA hosts high school science fair: On March 14, 2008, over 100 high school students from Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire Counties participated in the Massachusetts Region I Science Fair at MCLA. Congratulations to: Admissions Counselor Teddy Bourgeois '07 for placing second in the Berkshire Idol contest. |
