MCLA Gallery 51: 99c and UP exhibition

Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts' (MCLA) Gallery 51 will present its annual exhibit "99 Cents and Up," beginning on Thursday, Nov. 29, as part of North Adams Hometown Holidays, 5-8 p.m. All artwork will remain on exhibit, for sale through Dec. 31.

The public is invited to attend a free opening reception on Thursday Nov. 29, 5-8 p.m. at MCLA Gallery 51 as part of the City's annual kick-off to the Hometown Holiday celebration.

According to MCLA Gallery 51 Coordinator Kristen Parker, the exhibit offers  something for everyone. It benefits the artists who create high-quality artwork, as well as local art lovers, by making art available at affordable prices.
Like past years, the art can be taken from the gallery when it is purchased, and MCLA Gallery 51 staff will be available for gift-wrapping.

"The fast-paced energy of this show closely relates to the annual tradition of Black Friday," Parker said. "Like many retail stores that pack their shelves with consumer goods at sale prices, MCLA Gallery 51 does the same. The only difference being the unique art we make available to the public. If you are looking for that perfect, one-of-a-kind holiday gift at an affordable price, the '99 Cents and Up' show has something for you."
Featured artists include: Yura Adams, John Breiner, Pam Buchannan, Danielle Christensen, Laura Christensen, Andrew Davis, Claire Fox, Forrest Graham, Wayne Hopkins, Jen Huberdeau, Henry Klein, Wendy James, Julia Morgan, Melanie Mowinski, Mark Mulherrin, Dina Noto, Kristen Parker, Marianne Petite, Sean Riley, Ben Ripley, Gail and Phil Sellars, Josh Simpson, Karin Stack, Christina Stott, Sandra Thomas, Ven Voisey, Colleen Williams and Cathy Wysocki.

MCLA Gallery 51's "99 Cents and Up" exhibit is presented as part of North Adams Hometown Holidays, a joint venture between the North Adams Office of Tourism and Community Events and Develop North Adams. It aims to encourage people to shop local and buy local with special shopping bargains and family events.
