Thank you for supporting the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Your gift helps many current students including the ones below:
Israel "Izzi" Diaz '10
Hometown: Yonkers, New York
Major: Biology
Activities: sports training, performs work student in the African, Latino, Asian and Native American (ALANA) office
What he plans to do after MCLA: Attend a graduate program in sports medicine.
Izzi's parents emigrated from Honduras and encouraged their children to go to college. At MCLA he found change from the city, excellent programs, and a good financial aid package. He and his sister are the first in their family to go to college.
Jaclyn Ford '11
Hometown: Waltham, Massachusetts
Major: Education
Activities: Dance Company, Berkshire Towers Advisory Board, phonathon worker, Student Teacher In-class Support (STICS)
What she plans to do after MCLA: Teach 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grade.
Jaclyn chose MCLA over a private university in the eastern part of the state with an excellent graduate program in education. There the tuition, room and board would have been $40,000 a year, while at MCLA it is $13,477, and she knew she could expect smaller classes, more personal connection to faculty members, and community service opportunities in elementary school classrooms.
