"MCLA not only gave me a great education in the classroom, it also gave me a chance to learn outside of the classroom. Whether it was on the baseball field, in the community, or working with different clubs and organizations MCLA gave me the chance to grow as a person. I use both my classroom and non-classroom education every day that I’m at work. I have to learn in every situation that presents itself, day after day. The meetings I attend are just like the small classroom settings at MCLA and allow me to feel comfortable. I prepare for those meetings just like I did for a test or a baseball practice. MCLA made me a better person. I feel more confident as a person with my MCLA degree."

HEAD COACH

2006 MASCAC Coach of the Year

Jeff Puleri was added to the Trailblazer coaching staff in the fall of 2002 as the head coach of baseball. Three years prior to taking over the program, he was the pitching coach for the Trailblazers. With Puleri's pitching expertise, the 2002 team led the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) in lowest ERA (3.39). MCLA players Jamie LeBaron and Joe Bateman were the only pitchers named to the first-team MASCAC at the close of the 2002 season, finishing 1-2 in the conference.

Puleri attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he was a four-year letter winner and stand-out pitcher for the Minutemen baseball team. Upon graduating from UMass with a degree in sports management, Puleri became the assistant baseball coach at American International College in Springfield, Mass. After one season with the Yellowjackets, he moved back to his hometown of Lee and began assisting MCLA.
