HEAD COACH

An accomplished performer both as a player and coach, Lea Robinson, comes to the MCLA program after serving as an assistant for the past two years at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  Before her stint in Milwaukee she served as an assistant coach at Morehead State University in Morehead, Ky. A native of Winchester, KY, Robinson was responsible for recruiting, scouting, film breakdown, and team academics at the Ohio Valley Conference school.

In addition to her time spent at MSU Robinson spent four seasons at Missouri Valley Conference-member Southern Illinois University. While an assistant in Carbondale, Ill., Robinson was involved in every aspect of the Saluki program, from recruiting to scheduling to camps and guard-specific individual training. Prior to her stint at SIU, Robinson served as a graduate assistant coach at Murray State University in Murray, Ky. from 1995-96.

As a player, Robinson was a four-year standout at Western Kentucky University and was a key cog in the Lady Hilltoppers’ run to the 1992 NCAA Championship Game, where WKU lost to Stanford for the national title. In Robinson’s four years Western Kentucky posted a 104-28 record, with three Ohio Valley conference titles and four appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

The 31-year old graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in psychology in May of 1995.  Robinson currently resides in North Adams with her partner Elizabeth.
