MCLA to Hold Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Benefit Concert This Saturday
NORTH ADAMS, MASS. - Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts' (MCLA) Society of Music will host the Second Annual Hunger and Homelessness Benefit Concert at the Eleanor Furst Roberts Auditorium in the MCLA Church Street Center on Saturday, Nov. 23, 7-9:30 p.m.
Admission to this event is free and open to the public, but attendees are encouraged to bring a can or other non-perishable food item and/or article of gently used clothing to donate. All donations will benefit the Pope John Paul Charity Center and the Northern Berkshire Interfaith Action Initiative Friendship Center.
The concert will feature a wide variety of performers, vocalists and musicians, to include MCLA's own a capella choir, the Allegrettos, as well as locally renowned artists CJ Field, Sarah Elizabeth Raynor and Jeb Barry. Additional performers will include the MCLA Society of Music, Corey Sloane and Dave O'Neil.
Field is a local musician with roots in rock and country. Raynor is a newcomer to the Berkshire music scene, but is a regular to venues including Mission Bar and Tapas, and the Market of Pittsfield. Barry is another local resident, and is known for his work in the Americana group, "Pawn Shop Saints."
This event is being produced in cooperation with MASSPIRG and the Center for Development, MCLA's Student Activities Council, and the MCLA Women's Center.
