My artwork takes on many forms. I make drawings, paintings, prints, and sculpture.
I usually complete bodies of work based around a few thoughts and ideas that take form in batches of smaller pieces and then culminate in a large-scale painting, drawing or sculpture. Bodies of work completed thus far have been based on the following themes: Noah’s Ark, the late music of John Coltrane, Shaker Gift Drawings, American Quilts and Snow-crystallography.
The artwork that I make is involved in transcending the simple materials that it is made with. My artwork is often highly detailed and the process of making it is very concentrated and slow moving. I make attempts at going beyond what I think is possible and try to take my work and myself into new levels of existence while keeping the whole process completely transparent. I aim to inspire a sense of awe and I strongly believe that through the honesty and integrity of my mark I can transform the material into something otherworldly and create objects of beauty.

The work presented in this exhibition is the result of a month and a half process of stream-of-consciousness thought tangents and the ensuing action. Working with intuition, interaction, found objects, mulched up ideas, a given amount of time, and a really long show title, all as building blocks.
I think of this resulting work something like a suspended shipwreck (or perhaps home-made architectural models of such a disaster): splayed out structures which lead this way and that, towards unknown depth, height, and breadth. The structures and fragments have potential for motion and action in many different directions, depending on what collides with what, and which direction the current shifts. I'm really not sure where the cargo, or any of the bits and pieces will end up.
This work is an attempt to follow twisting paths & extraordinary junctures in ordinary plainness of this and the next moment, of this and the next thought. These are processes of living within moments. These are thoughts that spring off moments. These are structures that build up from thoughts. These are attempts at re-orienting structure, physically, layering structure to see the mass density of the structure itself --- the overlapping lines & poetic redundancy --- the sound of words next to and over each other in a room filled with conversations. These are attempts at dissolving structure by staring at its mass tangents and opposing perspectives, within and beyond. I've often heard the desire to 'capture' moments. I'm not so certain I want them captured. I do hope to recognize them and the potential of their wake but not in a stifling, or comprehensive manner, rather, existing within space, working within this time, moments simply occur, with minimal hesitation, recklessly falling within tides and currents, tumbling perfectly misinterpreted, understated, and less important, and somehow more than (perhaps the underlying cause of) the headlining news.
