MCLA GALLERY 51 Hosts Contemporary Artists Center’s “Made in NA,MA” exhibition

The Made in NA,MA show features works of art created by CAC resident artists in the last 365 days. Each year, the CAC brings dozens of artists from around the country and the world to the Berkshires to spend two weeks to two months living and working in North Adams The artists come from a wide range of backgrounds and produce work in many disciplines, from traditional painting and printmaking to cutting-edge performance art and video. The Made in NAMA show culls works from this group and offers a stellar representation of what this group of artists is creating, right in our own backyard. “The residency show is particularly close to our hearts,” says Hezzie Phillips, director of the CAC and curator of Made in NA,MA. “ We watched the artists come into our town filled with ideas and blank sheets of paper and witnessed a dramatic outpouring of inspiration, talent and artwork that will go back out into the world with a little bit of North Adams entwined with it”

The Contemporary Artists Center is a non-profit art organization founded seventeen years ago by working artists for working artists. Through its artist residencies workshops, lectures, exhibitions and performances the CAC seeks to promote the creation and appreciation of contemporary art.
