February 22-March 18, 2007
Opening Reception: Thursday, February 22, 5:30-7:30
At the heart of this exhibition are artists whose work allows us to meander: to stroll, to explore, to wander -- to infuse quotidian objects or experiences with playfulness and experimentation. Through drawings, video, sculpture, and text, the work in "Everyday Lines" uses line as a defining mechanism for investigations into the everyday: line as an outline, border, or surround; line as an extension of space; aggregate line as mass; lines that move over time; lines of speech, and line as an emotion, an attitude, an energy. Invited artists include Anu Tuominen (Helsinki, Finland), Rebecca Weinman (Pittsfield, MA), Kathy Desmond (Cambridge, MA), Brian DeRosia (Portland, ME), and Karen Combs/NAMA Rococo (North Adams, MA).
