Gallery 51 on Main Street in North Adams is the result of a unique collaboration between area business and community leaders, the City of North Adams and the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Located at 51 Main Street, Gallery 51 is operated by MCLA and features the works of international, national and local artists, including MCLA faculty and students.

Mixing and Matching: MCLA Student Art Show 2007
The Second annual year-end showing of the best work of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts Students. Presented by the Fine and Performing Arts Department of MCLA, the exhibit includes numerous works from across campus: paintings, drawings, cartoons, photos and experimental pieces.

Sister City Showing
From the city of Pittsfield comes an exhibition curated by Peter Dudek and Maggie Mailer, current and past directors of the Storefront Artist Project. For the past four years the Storefront has sponsored studio spaces, exhibitions, after-school programs and artist residency projects involving artists of local, national and international renown. For Gallery 51 Dudek and Mailer have selected from this wide assortment of talent, all of whom have a base in the Berkshire area -- an area that is rapidly becoming known as the "Cultural Corridor".

Kent Mikalson Retrospective
Kent Mikalsen will be exhibiting his recent drawings and sculptures. His large-scale, black and white charcoal drawings -- graphic and abstract -- are sculptural in nature; the forms appearing to be chiseled and molded into the paper. His carved wooden sculptures are the physical embodiment of the fantastical forms created in his drawings.
