NORTH ADAMS, MA – Associated Industries of Massachusetts (AIM) has announced that Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts will receive its Regional Legacy of Leadership Award on Oct. 3 at the Berkshire Regional Legacy of Leadership Series at Interprint Inc., in Pittsfield.

MCLA will be recognized for its work with a variety of community partners to obtain and utilize new resources to enhance the teaching of math, science and technology throughout the region. Established last year during AIM’s 90th anniversary, the Legacy awards are designed to honor contributions by employers or institutions in the region that best illustrate AIM’s mission to make the commonwealth a better place to live and work.

The Series was designed to provide employers throughout the state with an opportunity to interact with members of AIM staff. The Oct. 3 session in Pittsfield will include a roundtable discussion.

Those expected to participate include Interprint President William M. Hines Sr.; David Bissallion, president and chief executive officer of the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce; Tyler Fairbank, president of the Berkshire Economic Development Corp.; and Dario Cavallero, president of Cavallero Plastics Inc.

In addition to the Oct. 3 Berkshire Regional Legacy of Leadership session, other sessions include those at A.D. Makepeace Co. in Wareham (Oct. 19), OSRAM Sylvania in Danvers (Oct. 20), Holyoke Community College in Holyoke (Oct. 25) and National Grid in Westborough (Oct. 26).

AIM’s mission includes promoting the well-being of AIM members and their employees and the prosperty of the commonwealth as demonstrated by industry leadership or as a model of corporate social responsibility; improving Massachusetts’ business climate through contributions that made an impact in the economic vitality and strength of the community, regions or state; and proactively advocating fair and equitable public policy through support of policies and programs that promote a healthy business climate, advance employment growth and assist employers in prospering and growing in the state.
