MCLA Gallery 105 to Present 'The Forest Of And And And'

NORTH ADAMS, MASS. - On Thursday, July 25, Gallery 105 - a pop-up gallery curated by Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) Gallery 51 - will feature the work of Tatiana Klacsmann of Hudson, N.Y.

The public is invited to attend a free opening reception, 6-9 p.m., on July 25 in Gallery 105, at 105 Main St. in North Adams.

Klacsmann will display her array of chimeras - mythical creatures that stem from Greek mythology that has body parts of different animals - in "The Forest of And And And."

She describes her art as "paintings, drawings and sculptures which uphold my aesthetic appreciation for beauty and precision over efficiency. Because I believe in the existence of the soul, I explore the relationship between the mechanical, the biological, and the spiritual."

According to Klacsmann, "I have dreamed of turning a whole gallery into a setting from a magical land."

Cassandra Garcia '14, associate gallery manager for Gallery 105, said "The Forest of And And And" will be different from the gallery's previous exhibition.

"This time, we will present solo show. Tatiana will turn the gallery into a fantastical world filled with chimeras of all types and sizes. I'm excited to see the gallery transform into a different space," Garcia said.

"The Forest of And And And" will continue to Aug. 25. Gallery 105 is open Wednesday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
