"MCLA provides a practical education that challenges students to develop themselves as thinkers, readers, writers, communicators, and problem solvers. Moreover, the MCLA liberal education prepares students for personal and professional success, helping students to comprehend the world and make informed self-directed decisions, preparing them for lives of civic responsibility."

First Year Experience

First Year Experience Program assists students in making a smooth transition into college life. One of the greatest support units for our First Year Students is the Peer Advising Staff. Peer Advisors are upperclassmen students who volunteer their time and energy to helping all First Year students with college transitions. Your Peer Advisor will keep in contact with you as well as create educational and social programs throughout your first year.

Other First Year Experience opportunities include working towards membership in the National Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, guest speakers, special faculty events, service opportunities, newlsetters, workshops and conferences.

Feel free to contact Celia Norcross, Director of Student Development with any questions related to your first year at MCLA or to learn more about Peer Advising.
