Campus Housing

Residential Programs & Services (RPS)

You may know them as dorms , but here at MCLA, we call them residence areas, and they are managed by Residential Programs & Services or as they are known on campus, RPS.

Living on campus sets the stage for student learning and the MCLA student housing program provides a living environment that is conducive to academic pursuits, personal growth and the development of friendships. As we believe the living experience is an integral part of the educational process, MCLA students, (except local commuters) are required to live on campus and participate in a College meal plan.

Transfer Information

First year students entering the College live on campus and participate in the College meal plan for three years. If you transfer in with prior college experience, you will receive a one, two or three-year residency requirement commensurate with the number of credits completed. The Office of Admission assigns the appropriate residency requirement at the time of admission.

Our Campus Housing Community

Our three residence areas house over 950 full-time, traditional-aged students. Each residence area is supervised by a Residence Director and a team of Resident Advisors.

Hoosac Harbor

Hoosac Harbor is a recreational space located on the lower level of Hoosac Hall. During the academic year, the Harbor is open seven days a week from 6:00 pm until 1:00 am. The Harbor provides a space for students to attend programs planned by Residential Programs & Services (RPS) staff and other campus activity planners such as the Student Development office and Student Activities Council (SAC).

When you come to the Harbor, you will find a big screen TV, video and DVD players and a variety of gameroom equipment such as pool tables, ping pong tables, foozball and air hockey. The Harbor also has a wide variety of board games available for loan. Sofas, tables & chairs, built-in stages and open space makes it easy to use this flexible activity space for everything from studying to playing cards to holding small group meetings.
