FREE CLASS - Ceramics

Come and try out how to work with ceramics with Paula Shalan, whose work is currently on view at MCLA Gallery 51 as part of the exhibition DIE FORMMEISTER: The Masters of the Form. Material provided.

Paula Shalan received her Bachelor of Arts degree in studio art and child development from Sarah Lawrence College, with additional studies at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago and Penland School of Crafts.  Her smoke-fired ceramics have been shown locally and nationally, including at Crafts National, The International Orton Cone Box Show and the Snyderman-Works Gallery.  Her ceramics can be seen at Orbit Art Gallery in Philadelphia, Penn., as well as The Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show and Craft Boston. Recently, "The Earthenware of Paula Shalan" was published in the international ceramic publication - "Ceramic Art and Perception." In addition to making art, she has taught ceramics and multimedia for over 20 years.

The class is FREE and open to all of all ages. MCLA students welcome!
