Multicultural Education Resource Center

MCLA offers many options for all students to build a strong, supportive College community that's critical to individual and group achievement. The Multicultural Education Resource Center encourages cross-cultural relations, student empowerment, and leadership especially for ALANA, international, and veteran students. Connecting students with successful peers, faculty, and community members helps students envision and realize their goals. The Center also promotes access to College and other resources, benefits, scholarships, careers development, and graduate programs.

The Center collaborates with our ALANA and other clubs and departments to enhance College programs, activities, and services that engage all and especially unrepresented students. Together we work to enlighten the MCLA and local community about the value and contributions of many cultures and perspectives.

Here are some of the ways you can participate:

  • Support or host multicultural overnights for prospective students to experience inclusive campus life at MCLA.

  • Be a student assistant for open houses for prospective and accepted students, and orientation sessions for new students.

  • Join ALANA and other clubs, Club Council, and Student Government Association programs and activities.

  • Establish mentoring and advising relationships with peers, faculty, and staff.

  • Participate in internships, College work opportunities, and study abroad.

  • Engage in community service and outreach opportunities.
