Dear MCLA Students:
Welcome! The Fall 2015 semester will be one filled with exciting and new opportunities for the campus community. Building upon a strong foundation, the College looks forward to continuing the important work that has deeply enriched the lives of our students and advanced the initiatives of the College.
You are part of a distinguished community. MCLA was recognized in Kiplinger’s Personal Finance’s list of 100 Best College Values for 2015 and was placed on the President’s Honor Roll for Service, for the fourth year, by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). These recognitions join MCLA’s designation as a Top Ten Public Liberal Arts College by U.S. News & World Report.
As you begin this phase of your academic journey, you will be engaged and provided with countless opportunities to expand and grow – in the classrooms, including the newly renovated Bowman Hall; in the labs of the Feigenbaum Center for Science and Innovation; on the athletic fields and courts; presenting in the gallery or performing on stage; and working and learning in the community.
Along the way, there are many within our community who will enhance your journey. MCLA Board of Trustees, faculty, and staff are all committed to preserving MCLA’s environment of excellence in teaching and learning. MCLA faculty and staff across the campus are excited to work with you to ensure a dynamic college experience.
The powerful experiences you have at MCLA will empower, equip and prepare you for the opportunities and challenges that await you after graduation.
Please consider this Student Handbook an important resource to guide you throughout the year. It includes information about MCLA policies and procedures, details on co-curricular activities, and contact information for members of the MCLA community who can address your questions and concerns. Questions are always welcome as we want to ensure you have the information to make your experience at MCLA successful.
Again, welcome to MCLA and I wish you all the very best during this academic year.
