Student Development

What does Student Development Mean at MCLA?

We are committed to the development of the whole student.  We offer student support services throughout your college experience. Beginning with orientation and through graduation there are many options of involvement and growth. Resources including a First Year Experience Program and peer advisors, class councils, clubs and organizations, commuter student opportunities, intermural sports, student leadership conferences and workshops all help to foster development and add value to your MCLA experience.

Check out our What's Happening newsletter to see the upcoming events at MCLA.  Programs and events run all week long and continue throughout the weekend. We also have many partnerships with local companies, restaurants and attractions to help you truly appreciate the Berkshires! Posters and banners for campus advertisements also are approved by staff in the Student Development and Activities Office, located in the Amsler Campus Center 309/310.

Student Development and Activities also registers all campus events.

Our staff strive to improve the quality of campus life through the cultivation of student-staff partnerships based on mutual trust, responsibility and high expectation. Students are challenged to be activists, taking responsibility for their community, and they are empowered by involvement in campus leadership and governance. We honor enthusiasm, effort, and excellence through every opportunity.
