Commencement Safety and Security Guidelines
We look forward to celebrating the MCLA class of 2014 at this year's Baccalaureate Ceremony on Friday, May 16th and our Commencement exercises on Saturday, May 17th. As we move into this weekend of celebration, we have put additional guidelines in place to ensure that all those who gather for these celebrations may enjoy the festivities as safely and securely as possible.
A message recently was sent to the campus community outlining these guidelines. For now, please be aware of the following guidelines:
• All campus community members participating in Commencement activities must have a valid form of government issued identification with them at all times. Valid IDs would include your campus ID, driver's license or other state ID, or passport. Faculty and staff who need to obtain or update your MCLA ID may do so at Campus Police Headquarters at 277 Ashland Street from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
• Please be advised that bags and personal items are prohibited in any areas where Commencement activities are taking place. We recognize that faculty participating in the Commencement procession may need to transport their academic regalia to Bowman Hall for robing and line up; such necessary items are permitted.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation with these guidelines, and for being part of Commencement activities as we offer our congratulations to the MCLA Class of 2014. I look forward to joining you at the celebration on May 17th.
