About
Mowinski began her career as an art education major at Case Western
Reserve University and the Cleveland Institute of Art. She moved west
to teach in Arizona and San Francisco, and then solidified her desire
to teach while serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Caribbean.
Following that experience, she earned an M.A.R. in Religion and the
Visual Arts from Yale University. She also holds an M.F.A. in Book
Arts and Printmaking from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
Her work has been exhibited and collected both nationally and abroad.
She's taught courses and workshops at Williams College, the American
Philosophical Society, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and at art centers
in Wyoming, St. Kitts, and Australia. Before joining MCLA she
coordinated public programs at the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield, MA.
Currently, she teaches drawing and design at MCLA and looks forward to
introducing her students to printmaking and the book arts.
