In 2006, Professor Jones-Sneed was awarded an National Endowment for the Humanities Grant for her project on The Shaping Role of Place - an African-American Biography. In summer 2011, she led an NEH Summer Institute, co-sponsored by MCLA, on The Role of Place in African-American Biography.
