Welcome to Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts

I hope you will find this handbook an informative and useful guide, both as you begin your employment with MCLA and as questions arise during the course of your work. The handbook is designed to provide you with general information about the benefits, employment practices, and policies related to your job at MCLA. If you have any questions or need any information, this book should be your standard reference. Should you have additional questions or need clarification about any specific policies and procedures, please contact the staff in Human Resources. They will be happy to assist you.

Everyone who works at MCLA shares a common purpose: to serve our students and ensure they have the information, resources, and support they need to succeed-in the classroom, lab and library, on our athletic courts and playing fields, in clubs and organizations, and in their professional internships and community service projects. We all contribute to this success and to the quality of the MCLA experience.

MCLA is a strong and vibrant community because everyone who works here helps to make it so. One of our greatest strengths is the talent and dedication of our people. Every member of our campus community has an important role to play. Your positive attitude, energy, and enthusiasm make everything we do, and everything we hope to accomplish, possible.

I am delighted to welcome you to our College community. Thank you for joining us. I look forward to working with you to serve our students and the entire MCLA community.
