Graduate Education

Masters of Education with Content Areas

We offer graduate content area courses, including English, History, Mathematics, Science, Physical Education/Health and Reading. Course are held in North Adams and Pittsfield and offer:

  • A strong background in educational foundations
  • Curriculum development
  • Instructional theory
  • Educational research

Flexibility

Designed for Berkshire County faculty who teach full time, courses are offered in the fall, spring and summer, with program completion in less than two years. Classes will be offered in multiple delivery methods:

  • One evening a week 
  • Saturday & Sunday 
  • Hybrids (combination of face-to-face and online)

Format and Schedule

  • Two 15-week terms each fall and spring
  • One-week classes in the summer - either all day or online

Program Requirements

Candidates for admission to the M.Ed. program are required to hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education. An admission decision is based on a combination of a student's undergraduate and/or graduate academic performance, professional and/or teaching experience, personal narrative, and three letters of recommendation. A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 is required for immediate matriculation.
