MCLA Veterans Resource Center Opening
Wednesday, April 16, Massachusetts Secretary of Veterans' Services, Coleman Nee, joined the MCLA community for the ribbon cutting of the Veterans Resource Center in Venable Hall. This Center will provide MCLA veterans with general academic support systems, professional and peer support, and other essential components.

Sixth Grade Students visit MCLA for the annual Berkshire County Goes to College day
Last week, MCLA hosted approximately 400 sixth grade students from Berkshire County as they visited campus to participate in workshops with MCLA faculty and staff. This powerful and motivational program for the students encouraged educational success and ways to aspire higher education. This program is made possible by the Berkshire Compact.
MCLA announces Dr. Charles F. Desmond as keynote speaker for 115th Commencement exercises
Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) will celebrate its 115th Commencement exercises on Saturday, May 17, beginning at 11 a.m., in the Amsler Campus Center Gymnasium.
This year's keynote speaker will be Dr. Charles F. Desmond, chair of the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education, educator, and community and civic leader, who will receive an honorary Doctor of Public Service. Read more
Professor Jones-Sneed receives 2014 Berkshire Award
On Friday, March 21, MCLA History Professor Frances Jones-Sneed was awarded a 2014 Berkshire Award by the Berkshire Museum for her work showcasing the African experience in the Berkshires. The award celebrates the work of individuals who have made significant contributions to the region. Read more
Commissioner Freeland pays a visit to MCLA
On Thursday, March 20, Commissioner Richard Freeland of the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education visited MCLA and met with faculty, staff, and later attended a Board of Trustees meeting. The commissioner also participated in a roundtable discussion with students who shared their experiences on the importance of public higher education.
Gloria Steinem brings an eye-opening testimonial to MCLA
