Free Songwriting Workshops to be held at MCLA Gallery 51
NORTH ADAMS, MA - A series of three songwriting workshops led by singer/songwriter Bernice Lewis will be held by Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA), beginning on Tuesday, April 27, at MCLA Gallery 51 on Main Street.
This series, which is free and open to the public, will meet for three consecutive Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m., on April 27, May 4 and May 11. The events are sponsored by the Cultural Council of Northern Berkshires and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
Lewis, who has lived in the Berkshires for nearly three decades, has been a nationally known touring artist for almost 30 years. She is a singer/songwriter, a producer and recording artist with six albums to her credit. In addition, she is a published poet and an educator.
Lewis has worked with Dar Williams, Bobby McFerrin, Roseanne Cash, Christine Lavin, the Dixie Chicks, Patty Griffin, Peter, Paul and Mary, and Patty Larkin. In addition to her performing career, she teaches "Songwriting and Performing" at Williams College in Williamstown, Mass., and Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colo.
