Pi Upsilon Pi was founded on the 21st of November 1980 at North Adams State College, now known as Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Through the decades, there have been hundreds of brothers that have joined this fraternity. We will continue to strive for academic excellence and remain active and engaged on and off campus. As a Greek organization, Pi Upsilon Pi offers opportunities to build upon the various aspects of networking, the ability to form necessary leadership skills to succeed, and continues in its efforts to transform the lives of fraternity brothers throughout their college career and beyond. Pi Upsilon Pi has all the necessary tools to evolve and improve as time progresses.
Our fraternity was created on the foundation of strong morals and values; respect, honor, loyalty and brotherhood. With these values as our tools for success and foundation as an organization, we continue to positively impact our MCLA community and the members of our organization. Through our community outreach and support from and for MCLA, we are able to continue helping various causes and organizations.
The brothers of Pi Upsilon Pi have volunteered countless times for a number of different organizations, including the STICS program, SpringFest, Habitat for Humanity, Berkshire Food Project, the Northern Berkshire Youth ROPES Family Fun Day, MCLA's Community Day of Service, MASS MoCA's FreshGrass and Solid Sound music festivals, FIGMENT, the Louison House Homeless Shelter, food drives, and MCLA's Annual Blood Drive. Annually, our brothers participate in the Cystic Fibrosis 5K Walk/Run, having raised over $100,000 since our inception. We take pride in our philanthropic deeds while remaining completely non-profitable and maintaining a charitable attitude. Pi Upsilon Pi strives to have sociable students that want to be involved as well as continue to give back to the MCLA community.
As a fraternity, we consider it an incredible opportunity to meet a group of young men with the same goals in mind as the rest of our organization. Not only do we consider our members brothers, but family as well, helping each other just as much as we are willing to help the community. Being a brother of Pi Upsilon Pi is an easy and fun way to get involved at MCLA and enhance your educational experience by emphasizing intellectual, interpersonal, and social development.
