The Art of Dissent
Galeria Inqilab, 5 Holden St., North Adams, will feature the work of wood cut prints from the Asaro collective in Oaxaca Mexico, in a show titled "The Art of Dissent," curated by Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) Professor Ann Scott.
As part of this year's DownStreet Art initiative - organized by the Berkshire Cultural Resource Center (BCRC) at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) - the installation will be available for viewing July 29 through September 19. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Friday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Gallery talks given by Scott on the exhibit and social political situation in Oaxaca that gave rise to the formation of the artist collective will take place on Aug. 12 and Sept. 16 at 6 p.m.
