Residence Life & Housing hires students for various types of positions throughout the year. Each position provides different opportunities for students to gain valuable skills that can be applied while on campus and for life after graduation.

Resident Advisor (RA)

Resident Advisors are a student leadership position that live on in the residence areas to help support the needs of our students. They serve in on a weekly on duty rotation to respond to situations and concerns that might arise. Additionally they help to develop community amongst the students, provide out of the classroom learning opportunities and enhance the overall residential experience.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be a full time matriculated undergraduate student
  • 2.3 Cumulative GPA
  • 24 Credits at time of employement
  • Be in good stand with the Dean of Student's Office
  • Show a strong skill set in Leadership, Communication, Interpersonal, Organization, Time Management, Writing, Critical Thinking & Decision Making, and Confrontation 

When are we hiring?

RA applications typically are available beginning after Thanksgiving Recess and are due by early February. Decision are usually made some time around Spring Break for the next acamdemic year's staff.

Compensation:

  • Single Room at a discounted rate
  • Stipend of $3,100.00 per semester paid bi-weekly
  • Parking Pass

Process:

Individuals interested in the position must first submit an application on Interview Exchange. All eligible candidates will go through and interview process with the RLH staff.

Residence Area Security Monitors (RASMs)

Residence Area Security Monitors serve as the first line contact for students at the front desks in our residence areas. They provide watch over the main entrance and serve as a resource for students and guests. They monitor activity coming and leaving the building, sign guests in, and loan out equipment to residents.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be a full time matriculated undergraduate student
  • 2.3 Cumulative GPA
  • Be in good stand with the Dean of Student's Office
  • Must be a resident student at time of employement 

 

 

When are we hiring?

RASM applications typically are available beginning after Spring Break and applications are due by early April. Decision are usually made prior to the end of the spring semester for the next acamdemic year's staff.

Compensation:

  • $15 per hour for regular RASMs
  • $16 per hour for Overnight RASMs
  • Paid bi-weekly

Summer Assistants (SAs)

Summer Assistants are students who work for the department over the summer. They assist with day to day operations of summer conferences, residence area inspections, serve on duty to support conference guests and summer resident students. Additionally they help in supporting to get the residence areas ready for the start of the next academic semester.
