Peer Advisors

The Peer Advising Program helps all first-year students succeed through tutoring and peer support. PAs are upperclass students who are dedicated to helping first-year students thrive at MCLA by:

  • Connecting with students at least three times per semester
  • Creating special programs
  • Working with offices, departments, and faculty to ensure students' needs are met
  • Informing students about upcoming programs, workshops, seminars, and speakers
  • Serving as a resource for the transition to college life

Students are assigned to peer advisors in connection to their First Year Course and Seminars.

First Year Seminars

First Year Seminars are co-facilitated by Peer Advisors and a campus Facilitator. This extension of your First Year Experience Course will provide an important introduction to the MCLA community, college life management strategies and the resources available to help you transition successfully into the college learning and living environment.
