Student Instructions for Add/Drop Procedure

The drop/add period for Spring 2020 begins on Wednesday, January 22nd and will run through Thursday, January 30th.  Students wishing to make changes to their class schedule will need approval from their academic advisor.  Students wishing to be added into a class will need approval from instructor.  Instructor approval is not needed to drop a course during this period.

  • Review the online class schedule and open class lists available in Banner (from the portal page, click on the word “Banner” in the blue header bar)
  • It is recommended that you review your Degree Works audit to make sure your proposed changes fit your requirements. (select “Degree Audit” from the Student menu on the portal page)
  • Fill out the add/drop form completely. Include all of the course information, your student ID#, and your signature.  This form can be picked up at the Office of Student Records in Eldridge Hall, or downloaded from the Registrar web page.
  • Meet with your academic advisor, or the department chair for your major. Have your advisor sign the form.
  • Take your form to the instructor for any course you wish to add. It will be easiest to get in touch with the instructor by going to the time location of the class.
  • In lieu of a signature, an email approval is acceptable. This email must be done through the College email system, Office 365.  You will need to print any email approvals and bring them with your add/drop form to the Office of Student Records.

It is also possible to do your transactions online through Banner.  The online add/drop instructions are below.  You can also watch the instructional video.
